About SH Hawaiian BBQ

As a longtime patron, I can tell you that walking into SH Hawaiian BBQ feels like being transported to a local spot in Honolulu. The inviting aroma of grilled teriyaki and slow-cooked kalua pork instantly sets the mood for an authentic Hawaiian dining experience. Their plate lunches, served with the traditional two scoops of rice and mac salad, perfectly capture the essence of Hawaiian comfort food.

The Late-Night Magic of SH Hawaiian BBQ Satisfies Every Craving

Operating from 9 AM until 2 AM on weekdays and staying open until 3 AM on Fridays and Saturdays, this place is a godsend for night owls and late-shift workers. There's something special about enjoying a hot, fresh Hawaiian BBQ plate at midnight that just hits different.

SH Hawaiian BBQ Brings Authentic Island Flavors to Palo Alto

Every dish I've tried here showcases their commitment to authentic Hawaiian flavors. The BBQ chicken is grilled to perfection with a sweet-savory marinade that's absolutely addictive. Their kalua pork, tender and smoky, tastes like it came straight from a traditional Hawaiian luau.

The Generous Portions at SH Hawaiian BBQ Define Value

One thing that consistently impresses me is their portion sizes. The mini plates here are what other places would call regular size, and their regular plates could easily feed two people. The combination of generous servings and reasonable prices makes this spot a favorite among students and locals alike.

The Menu Variety at SH Hawaiian BBQ Offers Something for Everyone

My personal favorites include their BBQ mix plate, featuring a perfect combination of their best meats, and their garlic shrimp plate that rivals North Shore's famous shrimp trucks. The chicken katsu is consistently crispy and juicy, while their loco moco satisfies even the heartiest appetites.

Located at 3890 El Camino Real, SH Hawaiian BBQ has become more than just a restaurant – it's a community gathering spot where Silicon Valley meets island hospitality. The extended hours make it an ideal choice for early birds and night owls alike, while the consistent quality keeps customers coming back day after day.

I was disappointed with the customer service at this restaurant. When I requested BBQ sauce, the counter girl became upset when I mentioned that the consistency of the sauce varied. The first serving was thick, while the to-go portion was watery. Her attitude was less than friendly when taking my order.

Although the food at this restaurant is decent, the service leaves much to be desired. The woman at the front counter who takes orders is consistently rude and condescending, making the overall dining experience unpleasant. Despite being a loyal customer since the restaurant first opened, I have noticed a significant decline in the quality of service. Additionally, I have heard from other patrons that the owners keep the tips, which is unethical. Unfortunately, I will not be returning to this establishment.

I absolutely adore this place! The hours are convenient as it's always open late, and the food is consistently fresh and delicious. This was my first time trying Hawaiian cuisine, and it was a fantastic experience. The fish fillet and spam musubi were my favorites. The service is top-notch, and the food arrives quickly. The spacious restaurant adds to the overall enjoyment. They offer a diverse selection of drinks, and I can't wait to sample their donuts on my next visit!

Stumbled upon this gem while passing by and couldn't resist trying it out. Opted for the mix plate and it exceeded my expectations with its generous portions reminiscent of Hawaii. Treated myself to some donuts, although slightly pricey, they were absolutely scrumptious! Whenever I return from a trip through SFO, this is my go-to spot, especially late at night. Living in the South Bay, I rarely have the chance to visit, but I've made it a point to come here four times this year. A friend who relocated from Hawaii also found it to be quite enjoyable and satisfying.

This BBQ joint serves up some seriously delicious dishes. The chicken cutlet and BBQ chicken are mouth-watering, and the portion sizes are incredibly generous. The mac salad is just the right balance - not too heavy, but still satisfying. And don't leave without grabbing some donuts for dessert! They are super fresh and absolutely delicious, making for the perfect sweet treat to end your meal.

I stumbled upon this hidden gem at 11 pm after a concert and boy, was I starving! Sometimes you need a break from the usual late-night fast food options like Wing Stop or Taco Bell. I decided to try the BBQ chicken plate and I was pleasantly surprised. The chicken was juicy and the dipping sauce was delicious with the rice. The portion size was generous, with four good-sized pieces of chicken. The mac salad that came with the plate was a highlight - creamy, well-seasoned, and not overly sweet. I could have easily ordered a bowl of it on its own. I also tried the pickled jalapeños, which weren't overly pickled, giving them a nice crunch and raw jalapeño taste. Overall, this spot is a great change of pace for a late-night meal that isn't fast food. A must-try for those craving something different!

Looking for a great late-night spot? Look no further! I highly recommend trying their delicious BBQ - it's a must-have. The doughnuts here are incredibly large and tasty, and the lady behind the counter is so friendly. If you're in the mood for some Drunkin Noodles, you won't be disappointed. While they don't serve alcohol, you can always stop by the late-night market next door for a drink. The elderly gentleman working hard every night deserves a vacation - he's always so dedicated!

This place is the perfect spot for late-night cravings after a night out. They stay open late, serving up decent food that hits the spot. While I didn't try the donuts, the Hawaiian food was your typical fast food version, nothing extraordinary. The dining room next to the kitchen is spacious and cozy, giving off a casual vibe that's not too crowded. It's exactly what I needed for a late-night bite.

Craving Hawaiian plate lunches late at night? Look no further than SH Hawaiian & Donuts for your fix. I stumbled upon this gem while searching for a spot with late-night eats, and as a Hawaiian food enthusiast, I had to give it a try. Upon asking for their top Hawaiian dish, I was recommended the BBQ Mix plate priced at $15.99, featuring delicious short ribs, chicken, beef, rice, and mac salad. The generous portion size easily made it into two meals. All the meats were bursting with flavor and accompanied by a tasty teriyaki sauce. The classic Hawaiian-style BBQ chicken was my personal favorite, and the mac salad was absolutely delightful. I found myself wishing for more mac salad instead of rice. Dining in was a great choice as I discovered the pickled jalapenos on the table, adding a delicious tang to every bite. I highly recommend giving them a try. If you're a fan of Hawaiian plate lunches or in the mood for a late-night meal in Palo Alto, SH Hawaiian & Donuts is a must-visit spot.
